fusion (music)

A fusion genre is a music genre which combines two or more genres. For example, rock and roll originally developed as a fusion of blues, gospel and country music. The main characteristics of fusion genres are variations in tempo, rhythm and sometimes the use of long musical "journeys" that can be divided into smaller parts, each with their own dynamics, style and tempo.

This is a sub genre of Reggaeton. Calle 13 helped introduce this genre. It's also known as Alternative Reggaeton. Danny Fornaris is the most famous producer in this sub-genre, known as its Luny Tunes. Other artists who also helped expand this genre is Audi, LG and Voltio in the song "Vacila como eh", and Don Omar's "Jangueo" from his album King of Kings.

A music genre is a term that describes the process of dividing popular music into categories. Some treat the terms genre and style as the same, and state that genre should be defined as pieces of music that share a certain style or "basic musical language." Others state that genre and style are two separate terms, and that secondary characteristics such as subject matter can also differentiate between genres. A music genre (or sub-genre) could be defined by the techniques, the styles, the context and the themes (content, spirit). Also, geographical origin is sometimes used to define the music genre, though a single geographical category will normally include a wide variety of sub-genres.

Fusion est un terme qui fut utilisé, essentiellement dans les années 1990, pour désigner des groupes de musique qui mélangeaient volontairement les influences de la musique blanche et de la musique noire, et plus particulièrement le rock et le rap. Mais d'autres styles musicaux sont aussi parfois mêlés : funk, punk, ska, reggae, metal, etc.

Fusion är en sammanslagning av jazz och en eller flera andra musikgenrer, den vanligaste formen av fusion är att blanda jazz med rock vilket ger jazzrock. Ett exempel på fusion som blandar jazz med andra genrer, som förutom rock kan vara exempelvis funk, rhythm and blues eller världsmusik eller etno. Rent teoretisk kan man alltså spela exemeplvis blues-reggae fusion, även om detta aldrig skulle benämnas fusion.

Fusionsmusik er en musikstil, hvor elementer fra flere anerkendte stilarter bliver inddraget. Mest brugt om fusion mellem jazz og rock, en musikstil som havde sin storhedstid fra slutningen af 1960'erne frem til midten af 1990'erne.
