FOREST (an acronym for "Freedom Organisation for the Right to Enjoy Smoking Tobacco") is a United Kingdom political pressure group which campaigns against tobacco control activity.

Forest
A forest, also referred to as a wood or the woods, is an area with a high density of trees. As with cities, depending on various cultural definitions, what is considered a forest may vary significantly in size and have different classifications according to how and what of the forest is composed. These plant communities cover approximately 9.4 percent of the Earth's surface (or 30 percent of total land area), though they once covered much more (about 50 percent of total land area), in many different regions and function as habitats for organisms, hydrologic flow modulators, and soil conservers, constituting one of the most important aspects of the biosphere. Although forests are classified primarily by trees, the concept of a forest ecosystem includes additional species (such as smaller plants, fungi, bacteria, and animals) as well as physical and chemical processes such as energy flow and nutrient cycling.

Forêt
Une forêt ou un massif forestier est une étendue boisée, relativement dense, constituée d'un ou plusieurs peuplements d'arbres et d'espèces associées. Un boisement de faible étendue est dit bois, boqueteau ou bosquet selon son importance.
Une large typologie de forêts existe ; des forêts dites primaires, aux forêts dites urbaines, en passant par de nombreux types de sylvicultures et d'agrosylvicultures.
La forêt est aussi un milieu de vie et une source de revenus pour l'homme : au début du , plus de 500 millions de personnes, dont 150 millions d’autochtones vivent encore en forêt ou à ses abords.

Forest
Skog
Skog kallas ett trädbevuxet större område. Mer precist menas med skog såväl träden och undervegetationen som alla andra organismer som har anknytning till träden och marken. Definitionen av hur ett område räknas som skog är svårdefinierad, FAOs definiton ses dock som den mest utbredda. Enligt FAO betraktas ett område som skog om det är större än 5000 kvadratmeter innefattande träd som är högre än fem meter, där trädkronorna tillsammans täcker minst tio procent av arealen, det primära syftet med marken ska dessutom inte vara att odla den. Kalhyggen i området som tillfälligt står utan träd inräknas i skogen.
