FON Wireless Ltd. "FON" is a company that runs a system of shared wireless networks. It began in November 2005.FON’s members or “Foneros” are consumers who agree to share their WiFi in return for free access to all other WiFi access points in the community. The company also sells low-cost access to non-community members. FON’s La Fonera routers have been designed to enable Foneros to share their home WiFi access in a more secure manner. La Fonera routers split the WiFi signal, creating a secure private channel to broadband internet and a separate channel to share with fellow Foneros.

Une police matricielle ou police bitmap est une police de caractères  dont les caractères sont décrits par des matrices binaires. Une telle matrice peut être assimilée à un tableau de points noirs ou blancs, et permet de former l'œil d'un caractère. Les matrices sont habituellement stockées en mémoire d'un ordinateur sous forme de rangées de pixels. FON ist ein im November 2005 gegründetes Unternehmen englischen Rechts, mit Geschäftssitz in Madrid, das sich die weltweite und möglichst flächendeckende Installation von Hotspots zum Ziel gesetzt hat.FON installiert und betreibt die Hotspots nicht selbst, sondern setzt beim Netzaufbau auf Personen, die ihren Breitband-Internetzugang per WLAN anderen FON-Mitgliedern zur Verfügung stellen möchten. FON verkauft Tickets zur Nutzung dieser Mitglieder-Hotspots an diejenigen, die keinen Netzzugang zur Verfügung stellen. Je nach gewähltem Mitgliedsmodell erhält das Mitglied somit entweder die Hälfte der Einnahmen oder es erhält nichts, kann jedoch im Gegenzug bei anderen FON-Mitgliedern kostenlos mitsurfen.

Ein Haartrockner oder Föhn (früher Fön) ist ein elektrisches Gerät zum Trocknen der Haare nach der Haarwäsche. Der Name Fön ist eine seit 1908 eingetragene Wort-/Bildmarke der AEG Hausgeräte GmbH, Nürnberg. Heute kommt für AEG-Haartrockner jedoch die seit 1941 eingetragene Wort-/Bildmarke FOEN zum Einsatz. Föhn bzw. Fön ist eine Ableitung von der Windart Föhn.
