Flicker
Flicker may refer to any of the following:
- Flickers, woodpeckers of the subgenus Colaptes
- Flicker (screen), a fading between frames that occurs on a cathode-ray screen at low refresh rates
- Power line flicker, a fluctuation in the voltage of AC power lines, whose compliance is regulated by IEC61000-3-3
- Flicker noise, electrical noise with a 1/f spectrum.
- Flicker, a guitar tremolo made by ESP Guitars in the late 70s and early 80s

Flicker
Unter Flicker versteht man laut Internationalem Elektrotechnischem Wörterbuch den subjektiven Eindruck einer Instabilität der visuellen Wahrnehmung, hervorgerufen durch einen Lichtreiz, dessen Leuchtdichte oder Spektralverteilung mit der Zeit schwankt. Flicker ist also der subjektive Eindruck von Leuchtdichteänderungen, das, was man umgangssprachlich als Flackern oder Flimmern des Lichtes bezeichnet.

Flicker
In ambito elettrotecnico, il flicker è lo sfarfallio di una lampada ad incandescenza percepibile dall'occhio umano.
È un fenomeno causato dalle variazioni della tensione di alimentazione e più precisamente del suo valore efficace in quanto la luminescenza di una lampada ne è direttamente correlata.
Le cause di tale disturbo sono riconducibili all'inserzione e al distacco di grossi carichi connessi alla rete che lavorano in modo discontinuo (si pensi ai forni o alle saldatrici ad arco elettrico per uso industriale).
