Ferrite may refer to:

• Ferrite (iron), iron or iron alloys with a body centred cubic crystal structure.
• Ferrite (magnet) (e.g. Fe₃O₄ or BaFe₁₂O₁₉), ferrimagnetic ceramic materials used in magnetic applications.
• Ferrite bead, components placed on the end of data cables to reduce interference.
• Ferrite core, a structure on which the windings of electric transformers and other wound components are formed.
• Calcium aluminoferrite, Ca₂(Al,Fe)₂O₅, a mineral found in cements

Ferrite sind elektrisch schlecht oder nicht leitende ferrimagnetische keramische Werkstoffe aus Eisenoxid Hämatit (Fe₂O₃), seltener Magnetit (Fe₃O₄) und weiteren Metalloxiden. Ferrite leiten im nicht gesättigten Fall den magnetischen Fluss sehr gut und haben eine hohe magnetische Leitfähigkeit (Permeabilität). Diese Werkstoffe weisen somit im Regelfall einen kleinen magnetischen Widerstand auf.

Le mot « ferrite » peut désigner :

• la ferrite (féminin), ou fer a, une phase du fer et des aciers ;
• le ferrite (masculin), une céramique ferromagnétique à base d'oxyde de fer. Ce terme est souvent limité aux structures spinelles ;
• en chimie du ciment: C₄AF: Ferro-aluminate tétracalcique (Al₂O₃ Fe₂O₃ – 4 CaO) ;
• en électronique, une ferrite désigne parfois par abus de langage une bobine dont le circuit magnétique est constitué de ferrite. Ce type de bobine sert au filtrage des parasites HF d'un signal ou d'une alimentation.

Ferryt – roztwór stały węgla w żelazie α zawierający niewielkie ilości, mniejsze niż 0,025%, węgla oraz niekiedy inne   dodatki stopowe. Wypolerowany przekrój ferrytu oglądany pod mikroskopem w powiększeniu x250 pokazuje strukturę ziarnistą, posiadającą jasnoszary kolor. Jako że cała zawartość węgla rozpuszczona jest w sieci krystalicznej żelaza, nie jest widoczny jako oddzielna faza. Ferryt, jest to jedna z możliwych odmian alotropowych stali, stabilna do temperatury przemiany eutektoidalnej (układ żelazo-węgiel) - do temp. 770 °C, jest materiałem miękkim i ciągliwym, mniej wytrzymały, twardy i plastyczny niż austenit. Ferromagnetyk o temperaturze Curie wynoszącej 770 °C.

La ferrite è una soluzione solida di piccole percentuali di carbonio nel ferro alfa, modificazione a corpo centrato del ferro, stabile fino a 911°C. Il Ferro alfa presenta la massima solubilità di carbonio (0,02%) alla temperatura di 723°C.
