Literatura fantástica
La literatura fantástica es un género
literario de
ficción, generalmente en forma de
novelas o de
relatos cortos. Se caracteriza porque utiliza la
magia y otras formas
sobrenaturales como un elemento primario del argumento, la temática o el ambiente.El género fantástico se asocia y se pone en contraste con la
ciencia ficción y con el
terror. Los tres géneros ofrecen elementos comunes tales como elementos alejados radicalmente de la realidad o especulaciones sobre cómo podría ser dicha realidad, o cómo pudiera haber sido. La "
fantasía" parece reservarse temas tales como la magia, valientes caballeros, damas en peligro, bestias míticas y búsquedas, en un ambiente medieval mientras que el terror generalmente se lleva a cabo en el presente con la intención de aterrorizar al lector y la ciencia ficción en el futuro, éste último en un ambiente altamente tecnológico.
