Fable
A fable is a brief, succinct story, in prose or verse, that features
animals,
plants,
inanimate objects, or
forces of nature which are
anthropomorphized (given
human qualities), and that illustrates a
moral lesson (a "moral"), which may at the end be expressed
explicitly in a pithy
maxim. A fable differs from a
parable in that the latter excludes animals, plants, inanimate objects, and forces of nature as actors that assume speech and other powers of humankind.Usage has not always been so clearly distinguished. In the
King James Version of the
Bible, the
translators rendered "μύθος" ("mythos") as "fable" in the
New Testament, in
First and
Second Timothy,
Titus and
First Peter.

La fable est un court
récit écrit plutôt en
vers qu’en
prose et ayant un but
didactique. Elle se caractérise généralement par l’usage d’une symbolique animale, des dialogues vifs, et des ressorts
comiques. La
morale est soit à extraire de l’implicite du texte, soit exprimée à la fin ou, plus rarement, au début du texte. Les fables les plus caractéristiques comportent un double renversement des positions tenues par les personnages principaux.

Erzählung mit belehrender Absicht, in der vor allem
Tiere, aber auch
Pflanzen und andere Dinge oder fabelhafte
Mischwesen, menschliche Eigenschaften besitzen (
Personifikation) und handeln (
Bildebene). Die Dramatik der Fabelhandlung zielt auf eine Schlusspointe hin, an die sich meist eine allgemeingültige
