Ex Cathedra
Ex Cathedra ( ) is a British choir and early music ensemble based in Birmingham in the West Midlands, England. It performs choral music spanning the 15th to 21st centuries, and regularly commissions new works.

Infaillibilité pontificale
Pour l'Église catholique, l'infaillibilité pontificale est un dogme selon lequel le pape ne peut se tromper lorsqu'il s'exprime ex cathedra (c'est-à-dire en tant que Docteur suprême de l'Église et en engageant sa pleine autorité apostolique), et ce, en matière de foi et de morale.

Ex cathedra
Ex cathedra (lat. ung. ’från lärostolen’, det vill säga i kraft av sitt fulla ämbete). Betecknar den vid Första Vatikankonciliet fastställda romersk-katolska läran enligt vilken påven i kraft av den helige Andes särskilda bistånd är ofelbar, när han i tros- och moralfrågor uttalar sig med sitt apostoliska ämbetes hela tyngd. Sedan fastställandet har sittande påve vid minst två tillfällen personligen fastställt en kyrkolära:
- 1854: Pius IX fastställde dogmen om "Jungfru Maria obefläckade avlelse"
- 1950: Pius XII fastställde dogmen om "Jungfru Maria kroppsliga upptagande till himlen"

Ex cathedra
Ex cathedra - łaciński zwrot, opracowany przez średniowieczną teologię scholastyczną, który dosłownie oznacza "z katedry". Wskazuje on na sytuację, gdy papież, zgodnie z doktryną katolicką, wypowiada się w sposób nieomylny. Konstytucja Pastor aeternus z 1870 roku ujmuje to tak:
- "Definiujemy jako dogmat objawiony przez Boga, że Biskup Rzymski, gdy mówi ex cathedra – tzn. gdy sprawując urząd pasterza i nauczyciela wszystkich wiernych, swą najwyższą apostolską władzą określa zobowiązującą cały Kościół naukę w sprawach wiary i moralności – dzięki opiece Bożej przyrzeczonej mu w osobie św. Piotra Apostoła posiada tę nieomylność, jaką Boski Zbawiciel chciał wyposażyć cały swój Kościół w definiowaniu nauki wiary i moralności"

Ex cathedra
La frase è molto frequente nell’uso ecclesiastico, specialmente per ricordare che il Papa, quando parla "ex cathedra" cioè come Dottore universale della Chiesa Cattolica, è infallibile.
La frase si usa ironicamente all’indirizzo di coloro che si danno arie di sapienti.
