Epigrafe (iscrizione)
L'epigrafe (dal greco antico «ἐπιγραφή», scritto sopra) o iscrizione è un testo esposto pubblicamente su un supporto di materiale non deperibile (principalmente marmo o pietra, più raramente metallo).
L'intento del testo è solitamente quello di tramandare la memoria un evento storico, di un personaggio o di un atto; le parole possono essere incise, oppure dipinte o eseguite a mosaico; l'epigrafe si può trovare sia in un luogo chiuso (chiesa, cappella, palazzo) sia all’aperto (piazza, via, cimitero), oppure può essere apposta su un oggetto.

Epigrafía
Epigrafía (del griego επιγραφή: escrito sobre) es una ciencia histórica que tiene por objeto la lectura y estudio de las inscripciones o epígrafes sobre materiales duros de una forma integral, tanto en su forma y material como en su contenido y su significado dentro de los contextos respectivos, históricos, arqueológicos o filológicos.

(n.) = label ; heading ; head ; rubric ; category heading.
Ex: There are a number of types of abstracts or labels that can be applied to abstracts.
Ex: This tutorial cover three of the four applications under the heading of catalog production.
Ex: A wide range of pamphlet and leaflet material was collected and arranged in cabinet files under topic heads such as health, employment, child welfare.
Ex: And, as another instance, it's not fair to employ rubrics for ethnic groups that are not their own, preferred names.
Ex: In one library, the director objected to the category heading 'Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender' = En una biblioteca, el director se opuso a que se utilizase la categoría "Gay, Lesbiana, Bisexual y Transexual".
