Energy level
A quantum mechanical system or particle that is bound -- that is, confined spatially—can only take on certain discrete values of energy. This contrasts with classical particles, which can have any energy. These discrete values are called energy levels. The term is commonly used for the energy levels of electrons in atoms or molecules, which are bound by the electric field of the nucleus, but can also refer to energy levels of nuclei or vibrational or rotational energy levels in molecules. The energy spectrum of a system with such discrete energy levels is said to be quantized.

Energieniveau
Ein Energieniveau ist die diskrete Energie, die als Energieeigenzustand zu einem quantenmechanischen Zustand eines Systems (etwa eines Atoms oder eines Atomkerns) gehört. Energieniveaus sind erlaubte Eigenwerte des Hamilton-Operators, sie sind deshalb zeitunabhängig. Das System kann sich dauerhaft nur in einem dieser Zustände, aber nicht bei anderen, dazwischen liegenden Werten der Energie „aufhalten“. Ein sich selbst überlassenes System strebt stets seinem tiefsten Energieniveau, dem Grundzustand, zu. Alle anderen Niveaus heißen angeregte Zustände.

Niveau d'énergie
Un niveau d'énergie est une quantité mesurable utilisée pour décrire l'ensemble des systèmes en mécanique quantique et dans la physique en général. Le fait de parler de niveau sous-entend une quantification de l'énergie ce qui implique que l'on utilise l'expression "Niveau d'énergie" essentiellement en mécanique quantique. C'est un descripteur mesurable, parmi d'autres, mais couramment utilisé car à un niveau d'énergie donné correspond un "état du système" donnée sauf si le niveau d'énergie est dit "dégénéré".

Energinivå
Energinivå eller kvantnivå är i kvantfysik de energitillstånd som ett fysiskt system kan ha. Termen används vanligtvis i samband med elektronkonfigurationen i atomer, molekyler eller kärnor, eftersom skillnaden i energinivåer för ett makroskopiskt objekt är försumbar.

Powloka elektronowa
Powłoka elektronowa (poziom energetyczny) - zbiór stanów kwantowych o tej samej wartości głównej liczby kwantowej.
W chemii za powłokę elektronową wokół danego atomu uważa się zbiór orbitali atomowych mających tę samą główną liczbę kwantową n. Kolejnym wartościom n przypisane są kolejne powłoki: K, L, M, N, O, P i Q. Powłoki składają się z różnej liczby podpowłok elektronowych, odpowiadających określonym rodzajom orbitali atomowych:
- K - jeden orbital s - może pomieścić maksymalnie 2 elektrony
- L - jeden s i 3 orbitale p - może pomieścić maksymalnie 8 elektronów
- M - jeden s, 3 p i 5 d - może pomieścić maksymalne 18 elektronów
- N - jeden s, 3 p, 5 d i 7 f - zależy która grupa np: grupa Ia = 1 elektron
