No one of the four
Gospels gives an inclusive or definitive account of the
Resurrection of Jesus or his appearances. There is one point at which all four converge – the telling, with variations, of the visit of certain women to the tomb, and finding it empty. These accounts each describe the first biblical sign of the
Resurrection of Jesus. When they visit the
tomb where his body was laid after the
crucifixion, they discover his body gone, and a young man or
angel(s) waiting within to tell them that he is risen from the dead.
