Oban Airport is located at the village of North Connel, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is a small airport, and is not currently used for commercial aviation.However, in 2006, the airport's operators, Argyll and Bute Council established plans to operate commercial flights between Oban and three remote island communities, Coll, Colonsay and Tiree. As such, the council have began to upgrade the airport to handle flights, and a terminal building is currently under construction. The council's plan is to have flights from Glasgow Airport and Edinburgh Airport operate to Oban, and onwards to the three islands.
