E (minuscule: e; Polish E z ogonkiem, "E with a little tail") is a letter in the Polish alphabet, Lithuanian alphabet, and the Dalecarlian alphabet. In Latin, Irish, and Old Norse palaeography, it is known as E caudata (tailed E).

- The letter è is sometimes used in the past tense forms of verbs in poetic texts to indicate that the final syllable should be pronounced separately. For example blessèd would indicate the pronunciation bless-ed rather than blest.
- "È" means "is" in modern Italian , e.g. "il cane è piccolo" meaning the dog is small. It is derived from Latin "est" and is accented to distinguish it from the conjunction "e" meaning "and".
- 鄂, or È is an abbreviation for the Hubei province of the People's Republic of China.
- È (è) is also used for an with a falling tone in pinyin, the Chinese language roman-alphabet transcription system.

(e-acute) is a letter of the Czech, Hungarian, Icelandic, Kashubian, Luxembourgish, Slovak, and Catalan, Danish, English, French, Galician, Irish, Italian, Occitan, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Vietnamese language as a variant of the letter “e”. In English, it may be observed as a pronunciation aid in loanwords (e.g., résumé from French) or romanizations (e.g., Pokémon from Japanese). This also used in Dutch, and Navajo.

(e-circumflex) is a letter in the Friulan, Kurdish and Vietnamese languages. The letter also appears in Afrikaans, French, Portuguese, Welsh, and Albanian dialects as a variant of the letter "e", as well as being used in certain Chinese and Ukrainian transliteration systems. It is also used in the Netherlands but the occurance of the 'ê' in their language is very unique. Most of these words find their origin in french. Some examples are: enquête, fêteren, coûte que coûte, maître d’hôtel, maîtresse, tête-à-tête.

[e] is Korean hip-hop group Epik High's sixth official album released in September 2009 and is also their third major album release of the same year. The two other albums released in 2009 are Map the Soul and Remixing the Human Soul, an electronica-inspired remix compilation album with labelmates Planet Shiver. Like Map the Soul before it, [e] includes a complimentary mini-book along with the actual audio CDs. The 74 page mini-book contains song lyrics, interviews, photographs, and various production notes from the artists themselves.

Breve
A breve (; ; from the Latin brevis "short, brief") is a diacritical mark ˘, shaped like the bottom half of a circle. It resembles the caron (i.e. wedge or háček in Czech), but is rounded, while the caron has a sharp tip. Compare Ǎ ǎ Ě ě Ǐ ǐ Ǒ ǒ Ǔ ǔ (caron) with Ă ă Ĕ ĕ Ĭ ĭ Ŏ ŏ Ŭ ŭ (breve).

Macron
A macron, from the Greek (makrón), meaning "long", is a diacritic placed above a vowel (and, more rarely, under or above a consonant). It was originally used to mark a long or heavy syllable in Greco-Roman metrics, but now marks a long vowel. In the International Phonetic Alphabet the macron is used to indicate mid tone; the sign for a long vowel is a modified triangular colon ⟨⟩.

In physics, mass–energy equivalence is the concept that the mass of a body is a measure of its energy content. In this concept, mass is a property of all energy, and energy is a property of all mass, and the two properties are connected by a constant. This means (for example) that the total internal energy E of a body at rest is equal to the product of its rest mass m and a suitable conversion factor to transform from to .
