Don't repeat yourself
In software engineering, Don't Repeat Yourself (DRY) is a principle of software development aimed at reducing repetition of information of all kinds, especially useful in multi-tier architectures. The DRY principle is stated as "Every piece of knowledge must have a single, unambiguous, authoritative representation within a system." The principle has been formulated by Andy Hunt and Dave Thomas in their book The Pragmatic Programmer. They apply it quite broadly to include "database schemas, test plans, the build system, even documentation." When the DRY principle is applied successfully, a modification of any single element of a system does not require a change in other logically-unrelated elements. Additionally, elements that are logically related all change predictably and uniformly, and are thus kept in sync. Besides using methods and subroutines in their code, Thomas and Hunt rely on code generators, automatic build systems, and scripting languages to observe the DRY principle across layers.

Don’t repeat yourself
Don’t-Repeat-Yourself (DRY, dt. etwa: Wiederhole dich nicht; auch bekannt als Once and Only Once, dt. etwa: Einmal und nur einmal) ist ein Prinzip, das besagt, Redundanz zu vermeiden oder zumindest zu reduzieren. Ein Anwendungsgebiet für das DRY-Prinzip ist z. B. die Programmierung.

La Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) est l'organisme fédéral américain de réglementation et de contrôle des marchés financiers. C'est en quelque sorte le « gendarme de la Bourse » américain, aux fonctions généralement similaires à celles de l'AMF français.

Dry är PJ Harveys debutalbum som släpptes den 30 juni 1992. Albumet spelades in i Icehouse i Yeovil i England och släpptes två gånger, först på skivbolaget Too Pure tillsammans med en begränsad utgåva av Demonstration LP samt med en mycket begränsad utgåva av en 80 minuterscd släppt på Indigo Records.

DRY (regula)
DRY - skrót od angielskiego wyrażenia Don't Repeat Yourself, reguły polegającej na unikaniu pisania tej samej części kodu programu w dwóch miejscach w celu zaoszczędzenia czasu i optymalizacji kodu.
Ta pragmatyczna reguła jest najczęściej używana przez twórców programów komputerowych. Jej istotą w tym kontekście jest taki zapis kodu źródłowego programu, żeby elementy wykorzystywane wielokrotnie kodować było trzeba tylko raz, a następnie można było jedynie odwoływać się do nich.
Regułę tę przykładowo stosuje się we frameworkach Ruby on Rails czy Django. Jest często spotykana (a nawet niemalże wymagana) podczas pisania skryptów PHP, w których to serwer wykonuje kod. Aby uniknąć powtórzeń definiuje się funkcje oraz tworzy klasy.
