Drupe
In botany, a drupe is an indehiscent fruit in which an outer fleshy part (exocarp, or skin; and mesocarp, or flesh) surrounds a shell (the pit, stone, or pyrene) of hardened endocarp with a seed (kernel) inside. These fruits develop from a single carpel, and mostly from flowers with superior ovaries. The definitive characteristic of a drupe is that the hard, lignified stone (or pit) is derived from the ovary wall of the flower. In an aggregate fruit composed of small, individual drupes, each individual is termed a drupelet.

Steinfrüchte sind Schließfrüchte, bei denen der Samen von einem verholzten Kern umschlossen ist. Dabei ist das Exokarp häutig, das Mesokarp fleischig, während das Endokarp den holzigen Stein bildet, in dem der Samen liegt.

Drupe
En botanique, une drupe est un fruit charnu à noyau, comme la cerise, l'abricot, l'olive ou la micocoule (fruit du micocoulier). Il est issu d'un pistil à carpelle unique, du type « infère » non adhérent. Dans le cas de fleurs à plusieurs carpelles libres, on obtient un fruit composé ou polydrupe, tel la mûre de la ronce. Il est en général indéhiscent (bien que la déhiscence ne soit pas nécessaire dans le cas d'un fruit charnu dont la chair se décompose rapidement, libérant le noyau).

Drupa
Una drupa è un frutto carnoso indeiscente con una parte esterna sottile (l'esocarpo membranoso o buccia), una parte centrale carnosa (il mesocarpo carnoso e succoso o polpa), ed una parte interna legnosa (endocarpo legnoso o nocciolo), che contiene al suo interno un solo seme osseo.

Le piante che producono drupe affidano la loro riproduzione agli animali che si cibano di questi frutti, attratti dalla polpa che è spesso dolce e saporita. Il nocciolo viene spesso ingoiato, e grazie all'endocarpo coriaceo, il seme passa indenne il tratto digestivo di questi animali.

Esempi di drupe includono tutti i membri del genere Prunus, tra cui pesca, albicocca, ciliegia, prugna e mandorla, nonché, al di fuori di questo genere, oliva, pistacchio, mango, mora, noce , cocco e coca.
