A day is a unit of time, commonly defined as an interval equal to 24 hours. It also can mean that portion of the full day during which a location is illuminated by the light of the sun, also known as daytime. The period of time measured from local noon to the following local noon is called a solar day.

The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is a member of the Intelligence Community of the United States, and is the central producer and manager of military intelligence for the United States Department of Defense, employing over 16,500 U.S. military and civilian employees worldwide. The Defense Intelligence Community is headed by the DIA, through its Director (who chairs the Military Intelligence Board), and it coordinates the activities of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force intelligence components. The DIA and Defense Intelligence Community provide military intelligence to warfighters, defense policymakers and force planners within the Department of Defense and the United States Intelligence Community, in support of U.S. military planning and operations and weapon systems acquisition. The DIA, designated in 1986 as a Defense Department combat support agency, was established in 1961 as a result of a decision by Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara, under President John F. Kennedy. The Department of Defense created the DIA with the publication of Directive 5105.21, "Defense Intelligence Agency" on 1 August, effective 1 October 1961.

La Defense Intelligence Agency (Agence du renseignement pour la défense) est une des principales sources de renseignements militaires du Département de la Défense des États-Unis.

• Doba cywilna – okres pomiędzy godziną 00:00 jednego dnia i godziną 00:00 dnia następnego w danej strefie czasowej. Początek doby cywilnej jest w danym miejscu na Ziemi przesunięty o ok. 10-14 godzin w stosunku do początku doby słonecznej. Wynika to z podziału kuli ziemskiej na strefy czasowe, podziału na czas letni i zimowy oraz momentu górowania Słońca na danej długości geograficznej.
• Doba pokładowa – czas odmierzany na statku przemieszczającym się przez strefy czasowe (np. statek wodny, samolot, statek kosmiczny) liczony od momentu rozpoczęcia podróży.
• Doba hotelowa – czas przydziału apartamentu dla klienta, liczony od określonej pory doby cywilnej, wyznaczonej w sposób najwygodniejszy zarówno dla klienta, jak i obsługi hotelu, wynikający z najczęstszych pór wprowadzania się lub wyprowadzania gości z hotelu.
