Dhikr (or Zikr, "Remembrance [of God]", "pronouncement", "invocation") , plural ; ), is an Islamic devotional act, typically involving the repetition - aloud or silently - of the Names of God, and of supplications taken from hadith texts and Qur'anic verses. Dhikr is usually done individually, but in some Sufi orders it is instituted as a ceremonial activity. Linguistically, it has several distinct meanings, like many Arabic words, which are common in Islamic sources. When God is the one who performs dhikr, the meaning is distinct from the remembrance humans perform.

Unter Dhikr (; auch Dhikrullah, wörtl. „Gedenken an Gott“) versteht man im Islam die intensive Anbetung Allahs (= Gottes). Der Dhikr kann laut geübt werden, aber auch still und so eher meditativen Charakter haben. Er kann sowohl alleine als eine Übung spiritueller Art als auch in der Gemeinschaft, in der Regel als Zeremonie der Sufi-Orden (Tariqas) zur Anrufung der Namen Gottes, ausgeübt werden. Derjenige, der ein Dhikr ausübt, wird als Dhakir bezeichnet.

La pratique du dhikr (arabe : [ḏikr], évocation; mention, rappel, répétition (du nom de Dieu)) est commune à tout l'islam. Cependant c'est dans le soufisme qu'il prend toute sa force. Cela devient un procédé pour se détacher du monde et parvenir à une extase, à l'anéantissement (fana'). Le dhikr s'accompagne souvent de l'usage d'une sorte de chapelet ( [misbaḥa], misbaha; chapelet). Cette pratique est justifiée par ces versets du Coran :

Ô vous qui croyez ! Invoquez souvent le nom de Dieu !

Dhikr ("ihågkommelse"), kollektiv eller individuell böneform, framför allt inom sufismen, som för det mesta består av ett upprepande, med hög eller låg röst, av ett ord eller en fras, till exempel den islamiska trosbekännelsen, Shahadah.

Dhikr (ar. ذکر, per. zikr) - w islamie rozmyślanie o Allahu, lub inne czynności mające na celu utrzymanie świadomości jego istnienia. Dhikr może być ukryty w sercu (per. zikr-e chaffi) lub jawny, za pomocą głośnej mowy (per. zikr-e dżalli). Dość często stosowaną pomocą w dhikrze jest subha - odpowiednik katolickiego różańca.
