Overview The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was formed on 1 January 1992 by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum to take over and merge the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then. Both these organizations were established in 1959 through the foresight and initiative of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the late Ruler of Dubai, as government supported bodies with the objective of making available to the people of Dubai an adequate and reliable supply of electricity and water.

Dewa (出羽国; -no kuni) est une ancienne province du Japon qui occupait une région qui est aujourd'hui partagée entre les préfectures de Yamagata et d'Akita.

Dewa (出羽国; Dewa-no kuni) ist eine der historischen Provinzen Japans. Heute liegen auf dem Gebiet die Präfektur Yamagata und die Präfektur Akita (außer der Städte Kazuno und Kosaka).Dewa wurde 708 von der Provinz Echigo abgespalten und dehnte sich dann langsam nach Norden aus, während die im nördlichen Honshu heimischen Ainu durch die Japaner zurückgedrängt wurden. In der Sengoku-Zeit wurde der südliche Teil der Provinz vom Mogami-Clan und der nördliche von den Akita gehalten. Beide Familien hatten in der Schlacht von Sekigahara für Tokugawa Ieyasu gekämpft.

Dewa (Deva) - dosłownie: "świetlisty", "jaśniejący", "oświecony". Dewa w hinduizmie i tradycji wedyjskiej oznacza mieszkańca niebios, czyli boga, bóstwo o dobrym i łaskawym charakterze, pełnej i oświeconej mądrości. Człowiek osiągający pełnię boskości za życia zwany jest dewata - anielskim, boskim. Wyróżnia się dziewięć kategorii czy sfer niebiańskich bytów zamieszkujących Królestwo Światłości, Dewaczan. Mitologia indyjska opisuje też istoty półboskie czy półanielskie określane mianem Upadewa. Przeciwieństwem aniołów, bogów są demony zwane Asurami. Najbardziej znanymi dewami panteonu hinduistycznego jest Trójca Bogów: Brahma, Wisznu i Śiwa. Żeńskim odpowiednikiem Dewy jest Dewi - Bogini, Niebianka lub Światłość.

Dewa (giapponese: 出羽国; -no kuni) fu una  provincia del Giappone che compone oggi le prefetture di Yamagata e Akita, eccetto per la città di Kazuno ed il paese di Kosaka.Dewa venne divisa dalla provincia di Echigo nel 708 e lentamente si allungò verso nord man mano che il popolo giapponese scacciò il popolo indigeno dell'Honshu settentrionale. Nel periodo Sengoku la regione meridionale intorno a Yamagata fu in possesso del clan Mogami, mentre quella settentrionale del clan Akita, entrambi i quali combatterono al fianco di Tokugawa Ieyasu alla Battaglia di Sekigahara.
