Dew is water in the form of droplets that appears on thin, exposed objects in the morning or evening. As the exposed surface cools by radiating its heat, atmospheric moisture condenses at a rate greater than that of which it can evaporate, resulting in the formation of water droplets.When temperatures are low enough, dew takes the form of ice; this form is called frost.Because dew is related to the temperature of surfaces, in late summer it is formed most easily on surfaces which are not warmed by conducted heat from deep ground, such as: grass, leaves, railings, car roofs, and bridges.

The Distant Early Warning Line, also known as the DEW Line or Early Warning Line, was a system of radar stations in the far northern Arctic region of Canada, with additional stations along the North Coast and Aleutian Islands of Alaska, in addition to the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland. It was set up to detect incoming Soviet bombers during the Cold War, a task which quickly became outdated when intercontinental ballistic missiles became the main delivery system for nuclear weapons.

La ligne DEW (Distant Early Warning) était un réseau de stations radar situé dans la partie arctique du grand nord canadien, mais également sur la côte Nord de l'Alaska, les îles aléoutiennes, les îles Féroé, le Groenland et l'Islande. Son objectif était de détecter toute tentative d'intrusion soviétique pendant la guerre froide. Elle devint obsolète lorsque les missiles balistiques intercontinentaux firent leur apparition.

La rosée est de l'eau résultant de la condensation de la vapeur d'eau de l'air. Elle apparaît sous forme de gouttelettes et se dépose généralement le soir (et parfois le matin) sur les végétaux et autres corps exposés à l'air libre quand la température du sol ou des surfaces concernées baisse au point de permettre la condensation de la vapeur d'eau contenue dans la couche d'air voisine.

Tau ist ein beschlagender Niederschlag aus flüssigem Wasser. Durch Abkühlung der Luft unter den Taupunkt kondensiert der Wasserdampf der Luft an bodennahen Objekten. Dies geschieht besonders am frühen Morgen, da dann die Temperaturen am tiefsten sind. Kommt es anschließend zu einem Gefrieren der Tropfen, so spricht man von gefrorenem Tau.

Rosa – osad w postaci kropel wody powstających na powierzchni skał, roślin i innych przedmiotów w wyniku skraplania się pary wodnej zawartej w powietrzu. Powstaje w warunkach bezdeszczowej pogody, szczególnie gdy jest ona także bezwietrzna, gdy następuje intensywne wypromieniowanie ciepła z powierzchni ziemi (najczęściej jest to wieczorem). Jeżeli wówczas temperatura przedmiotów spadnie poniżej punktu rosy, to na tych przedmiotach będzie tworzyć się rosa, czyli dojdzie do kondensacji pary wodnej. Takie intensywne różnice temperatur pomiędzy powietrzem a powierzchnią przedmiotów występują przy bezchmurnej pogodzie, gdy przedmioty wypromieniowują do atmosfery ciepło w postaci promieniowania podczerwonego. Chmury odbijają to promieniowanie i nie dochodzi do oziębiania przedmiotów.

Dauw is een vorm van neerslag die ontstaat als waterdamp in de lucht op vaste voorwerpen condenseert.Dauw ontstaat als de temperatuur van de lucht daalt tot onder het dauwpunt. Dit is de temperatuur waarbij de waterdampdruk van de luchtlaag vlak boven het aardoppervlak het verzadigingspunt bereikt. Dauw treedt meestal op rond zonsopgang in gebieden met een hoge luchtvochtigheid. Ook in woestijngebieden die grenzen aan een oceaan zoals de kust van Namibië of het noorden van Chili komt het verschijnsel, vaak tezamen met mist voor. De grote temperatuurverschillen tussen dag en nacht die gewoonlijk in een woestijn voorkomen spelen daar een belangrijke rol bij.
