The dactylus is the tip region of the tentacular club of cephalopods and of the leg of some crustaceans (see arthropod leg). In cephalopods, the dactylus is narrow and often characterized by the asymmetrical placement of suckers (i.e., the ventral expansion of the club) and the absence of a dorsal protective membrane. In crustaceans, the dactylus is the seventh and terminal segment of their thoracic appendages. In certain instances the dactylus, together with the propodus, form the claw.

Der Daktylus (griech. δάκτυλος, dáktylos, „Finger“; Plural: Daktylen) bezeichnet in der Metrik einen Versfuß und auch ein Metrum aus hintereinander einer schweren (langen) und zwei leichten (kurzen) Silben (vier Moren).

La patte des arthropodes est une forme de membre articulé. D'ailleurs, le terme même d'arthropode vient des mots grecs  (arthron), l'articulation et (podos), le pied, et signifie donc « patte articulée ».
La patte est habituellement utilisée pour marcher, mais d'autres utlisations du membre sont possibles (préhension, nage...)

Hundäxingar (Dactylis, ibland stavat Dactylus) är ett växtsläkte i familjen gräs som återfinns i tempererat klimat på norra halvklotet. Den vanligaste arten i släktet är hundäxing (Dactylis glomerata). Ibland anses alla arter vara underarter av just denna art.

De dactylus (mv. dactylen of dactyli) is een versvoet die bestaat uit een beklemtoonde lettergreep gevolgd door twee onbeklemtoonde lettergrepen (notatie: —∪∪).
