The +D (or Plus D) was a floppy disk and printer interface for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer, developed as a successor to Miles Gordon Technology's earlier product, the DISCiPLE. It was designed to be smaller, cheaper, simpler and thus more reliable.It discarded a number of the less important features of the earlier product — the network and joystick ports, the inhibit button and the pass-through connector — and replaced its ancestor's plastic wedge-shaped design which fit under the Spectrum with a simple flat metal slab which protruded from the rear of the computer.

It is usually used as a mark of high esteem for a distinguished Christian hidalgo or fidalgo; that is, a nobleman. In English "Don" is usually preceded by a definite article ("the").Its abbreviation, particularly in Portuguese, is "D." It is still used in reference to priests, like the French Dom. Don (vom spanisch don; portugiesisch Dom; aus latein: dominus Hausherr) ist die in Verbindung mit dem Vornamen gebrauchte spanische Bezeichnung für Herr in einem gesellschaftlich-herrschaftlichen Sinne. Die weibliche Form heißt "Doña". Heute tritt dieser Titel in Spanien hauptsächlich in Verbindung mit den Namen einflussreicher und mächtiger Familienklans auf, eine Kombination des "Don" mit einem klassischen Adelstitel ist daher keine Seltenheit.

Sie stammen aus der Zeit, in der über das Internet nur Texte verschickt werden konnten. Die Bezeichnung Emoticon ist eine Wortkreuzung, gebildet aus Emotion und Icon. Erkennen kann man sie am besten, indem man den Kopf etwas nach links neigt.

Don - tytuł grzecznościowy używany w Hiszpanii, Włoszech oraz Portugalii (dom), tylko w połączeniu z imieniem. W średniowieczu używali go członkowie rodziny królewskiej oraz książęta, z czasem rozszerzony na szlachtę i duchowieństwo. Od lat 20. XX wieku jest używany także przez głowy włoskich rodzin mafijnych (zobacz Don (mafia)). Tytuł ten przyjmuje formę żeńską, w języku hiszpańskim doña, włoskim donna i potrugalskim dona.

Emotikon (ang. emoticon), uśmieszek (smile, smiley), buźka to złożony ze znaków ASCII wyraz nastroju, używany oraz nadużywany przez użytkowników Internetu. Najczęściej przedstawia symboliczny ludzki grymas twarzy, obrócony o 90° w kierunku przeciwnym do wskazówek zegara, w licznych wariantach. Niektóre programy jak np. Microsoft Word czy Gadu-Gadu zamieniają wpisane znaki na buźkę odwróconą o 90°. Niektóre programy służące do komunikacji automatycznie zmieniają emotikony na ich graficzny odpowiednik. W języku polskim rozpowszechniła się także forma  żeńska tego wyrazu - emotikona, emotka, emotikonka.

Le emoticon (o smiles, in italiano faccine) sono riproduzioni stilizzate di quelle principali espressioni facciali umane che si manifestano in presenza di un'emozione (sorriso, broncio, ghigno, ecc.). Vengono utilizzate prevalentemente su Internet e negli SMS per sopperire alla mancanza del linguaggio non verbale nella comunicazione scritta. Il nome nasce dall'accostamento delle parole "emotional" e "icon" e sta ad indicare proprio un' icona che esprime emozioni.
