Cyanide sind Salze und andere Verbindungen der Blausäure (Cyanwasserstoff, HCN). In der organischen Chemie sind Cyanide mit der allgemeinen Formel R–C≡N eine veraltete, aber durchaus noch gebräuchliche Bezeichnung für Nitrile. Der Name Cyanid leitet sich vom griechischen κυανός (blau) ab und rührt von der Gewinnung aus Eisenhexacyanidoferrat (Berliner Blau) her, einem nicht sehr beständigen Pigment mit blauer Farbe.

Cyanider är salter av den svaga syran vätecyanid och innehåller cyanidjonen, CN^–. Det viktigaste saltet är natriumcyanid (NaCN), som bland annat används för att utvinna guld och silver ur mineral genom dess förmåga att bilda komplex med tungmetaller. Dock torde kaliumcyanid (KCN) vara mer känt som gift.

Cyjanki - związki chemiczne, sole kwasu cyjanowodorowego, które zawierają anion cyjankowy (CN^-). W potocznym rozumieniu, "cyjankiem" określa się sól potasową kwasu cyjanowodorowego - cyjanek potasu: KCN, truciznę często opisywaną w powieściach kryminalnych. Związki organiczne zawierające grupę CN nazywane są nitrylami.
