credit transfer

Credit Transfer is a procedure by which academic studies or assessment results in one course, institution, educational sector or country are recognised for the purposes of course entry or advanced standing in another. Historically credit transfer has mainly been administered on an ad hoc basis by higher education institutions but it has now become an important area of national and transnational education policy, particularly in relation to mobility between countries and educational sectors.

A payment order or sometimes a sequence of payment orders made for the purpose of placing funds at the disposal of the beneficiary. Both the payment instructions and the funds described therein move from the bank of the payer/originator to the bank of the beneficiary, possibly via several other banks as intermediaries and/or via more than one credit transfer system.
