Een creatie is een nieuw object of entiteit, of een nieuwe verschijningsvorm van een bestaand object.Het kan een nieuw apparaat zijn dat is uitgevonden, al of niet met een nieuwe vorm, een nieuwe functie of een nieuw werkingsprincipe of een combinatie daarvan. Maar het kan ook een bestaand voorwerp zijn, zoals een stoel of een kledingstuk met alleen maar een nieuwe vorm of een nieuw materiaalgebruik.
