In ballet, the corps de ballet (from French, body of the ballet) is the group of dancers who are not soloists. They are a permanent part of the ballet company and often work as a backdrop for the principal dancers. A corps de ballet works as one, with synchronized movements and corresponding positioning on the stage. Specific roles are sometimes made for the corps de ballet, such as the Snow Corps de Ballet and the Flower corps in Nutcracker.

Das Corps de ballet ([] französisch „Einheit, Gruppe im Ballett”) ist ein Ensemble von Tänzerinnen und Tänzern an einem Theater, das chorische Aufgaben erfüllt, im Unterschied zu den Solisten, die etwa Pas de deux tanzen. – Im weiteren Sinne wird der Begriff auch für Ballettkompanien verwendet und schließt dann alle Angehörigen der Kompanie mit ein.

Corps de ballet, franska ungefär ’balettkår’, betecknar de dansare vid ett balettsällskap som inte är solodansare. Dansarna i corps de ballet utgör ofta en bakgrund till de olika balettuppsättningarna.
