A conservator is someone appointed by a
court to manage the affairs or
estate of a person (called the
conservatee) who is deemed incapable due to reasons such as age or mental limitations. A conservator is similar to a
guardian, though in some states is limited to managing
financial affairs as opposed to decisions such as medical care.
