Concrete is a construction material that consists of cement (commonly Portland cement) as well as other cementitious materials such as fly ash and slag cement, aggregate (generally a coarse aggregate such as gravel limestone or granite, plus a fine aggregate such as sand or manufactured sand and water) and chemical admixtures.

Beton (Aussprache: [], in Teilen Bayerns und österr. [], schweiz. []) ist ein Gemisch aus Zement, Betonzuschlag bzw. Gesteinskörnung (Sand und Kies oder Splitt) und Anmachwasser. Er kann außerdem Betonzusatzstoffe und Betonzusatzmittel enthalten.Der Zement dient als Bindemittel, um die anderen Bestandteile zusammenzuhalten. Die Festigkeit des Betons entsteht durch Auskristallisierung der Klinkerbestandteile des Zements, wodurch sich kleinste Kristallnadeln bilden, die sich fest ineinander verzahnen. Das Kristallwachstum hält über Monate an, sodass die endgültige Festigkeit erst lange nach dem Betonguss erreicht wird. Es wird aber, wie in der DIN 1164 (Festigkeitsklassen von Zement), angenommen, dass bei normalen Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitsbedingungen nach 28 Tagen die Normfestigkeit erreicht ist.

Concrete è il quinto album in studio dei Fear Factory, anche se in verità è quello registrato per primo in ordine cronologico.Concrete fu registrato nel 1991, ma i Fear Factory non furono contenti del risultato finale, perciò registrarono un altro album, Soul of a New Machine.
