A concentrate is a form of substance which has had the majority of its base component (in the case of a liquid: the solvent) removed. Typically this will be the removal of water from a solution or suspension such as the removal of water from fruit juice. One benefit of producing a concentrate is that of a reduction in weight and volume for transportation as the concentrate can be re-constituted at the time of usage by the addition of the solvent.

Ein Konzentrat kann ein Pulver oder eine Flüssigkeit sein und enthält einen Stoff ohne oder mit einem geringen Anteil von zusätzlichen Füllstoffen, falls flüssig, von Lösungsmitteln. Vor einer Verwendung des Konzentrates wird dann das ursprüngliche Volumen durch erneute Zugabe des Füllstoffes bzw. des Lösungsmittels wieder hergestellt.

Ett koncentrat är en blandning av ämnen där man avlägsnat ett ämne för att få en högre koncentration av de andra ämnena. Vanligast är att man avlägsnar ett lösningsmedel, till exempel vattnet ur apelsinjuice. Kvar får man en apelsinjuice med lägre vatteninnehåll, det vill säga apelsinjuicekoncentrat.

Koncentrat - produkt wzbogacania niskoprocentowych rud metali (np. cynku, miedzi) lub innych kopalin (np. fosforytów, rud siarki). Uzyskuje się go najczęściej przez hydrauliczne lub pneumatyczne oddzielenie z rozdrobnionego urobku skały płonnej lub przez flotacje.
