Conceit
Aside from its common usage, signifying "excessive pride", in
literary terms, a conceit is an
extended metaphor with a complex
logic that governs an entire
poem or poetic passage. By juxtaposing, usurping and manipulating images and ideas in surprising ways, a conceit invites the reader into a more sophisticated understanding of an object of comparison.

Métaphore filée
La métaphore filée (substantif féminin), association des mots de métaphore et du verbe français filer (au sens de poursuivre une œuvre, un processus) est une
figure de style constituée d'une suite de
métaphores sur le même thème. La première
métaphore en engendre d'autres, construites à partir du même comparant, et développant un
champ lexical dans la suite du texte. Bien que distincte, on rapproche la métaphore filée de l’
allégorie.
