computer hardware

Computer hardware is the physical part of a computer, including the digital circuitry, as distinguished from the computer software that executes within the hardware. The hardware of a computer is infrequently changed, in comparison with software and data, which are "soft" in the sense that they are readily created, modified or erased on the computer. Firmware is a special type of software that rarely, if ever, needs to be changed and so is stored on hardware devices such as read-only memory (ROM) where it is not readily changed (and is, therefore, "firm" rather than just "soft").

Le matériel informatique (hardware, quincaillerie en anglais) est la partie physique, essentiellement électronique, de l'ordinateur, d'un terminal TNT ou sat.... Il est le complément du logiciel, (software en anglais). De manière analogue aux logiciels, on peut évoquer les termes de mise à jour ou d'architecture matérielle.

Hardware [] ist der Oberbegriff für die maschinentechnische Ausrüstung eines Systems z. B. eines  Computersystems. Es muss sich aber nicht ausschließlich auf Systeme mit einem Prozessor beziehen. Es können auch elektromechanische Geräte wie beispielsweise ein Treppenhauslichtautomat sein.Zur Computer-Hardware gehören alle Baugruppen (Komponenten: Prozessor, Arbeitsspeicher usw.) und Peripheriegeräte. Vereinfacht gesagt gehört alles, was angefasst werden kann, zur Hardware. Computer-Hardware ist ausschließlich mit entsprechender Software benutzbar. Software bezeichnet im Gegensatz dazu Programme und Daten, die man nicht anfassen kann. Die Datenträger, auf denen sich die Software befindet, z. B. Diskette, CD/DVD/BR-D/HD-DVD,  RAM, Flash-Speicher, Festplatte usw., sind dagegen Hardware.

Hardware - materialna część komputera. Ogólnie hardwarem nazywa się sprzęt komputerowy jako taki i odróżnia się go od software'u - czyli oprogramowania.Podział ten jest nieostry, gdyż współcześnie wiele elementów sprzętu komputerowego posiada "wszyte" weń na stałe oprogramowanie, stanowiące jego integralną część, bez którego elementy te nie mogłyby funkcjonować. Np. większość drukarek komputerowych posiada w swojej pamięci zestaw komend, przy pomocy których realizuje proces drukowania i których odpowiednik znajduje się w pamięci komputera stanowiąc programowy sterownik tego urządzenia. Wiele urządzeń - typu karty graficzne, płyty główne posiada własne oprogramowanie nazywane BIOS-em. Odnośnie oprogramowania niektórych urządzeń używa się słowa firmware.

Hardware è un termine creato da due termini dalla lingua inglese, hard (duro) e ware (manufatto, oggetto), e significa attrezzo o ferramenta.In particolare è la parte fisica di un personal computer, ovvero tutte quelle parti magnetiche, ottiche, meccaniche ed elettroniche che gli consentono di funzionare (nel qual caso è anche detto strumentario). Generalmente è anche riferito a qualsiasi componente fisico di una periferica o di una apparecchiatura elettronica.
