Colon
Der Grimmdarm (fachsprachlich eingedeutscht das Kolon grch. κόλον (kólon) «Darm», «Wurst» , latinisiert das Colon) ist ein Teil des Dickdarms der Säugetiere. Er beginnt am Übergang vom Hüftdarm (Ileum) und Blinddarm (Caecum) und geht an seinem Ende in den Mastdarm (Rectum) über. Die deutsche Bezeichnung Grimmdarm wird sowohl in der Wissenschaft als auch in der Alltagssprache nur noch selten verwendet .

Côlon
Le côlon, aussi appelé "gros intestin", court du cæcum jusqu'au rectum et constitue la partie terminale de l'intestin, appartenant à l'appareil digestif. Il fait suite à l'iléon au niveau de la valvule iléo-cæcale (valvule de Bauhin), et se termine au niveau du rectum. Il se dispose en cadre dans la cavité abdominale et mesure de à avec un diamètre de (cæcum) à (rectum).
