Coast
A coastline or seashore is the area where land meets the sea or ocean. A precise line that can be called a coastline cannot be determined due to the dynamic nature of tides. The term "coastal zone" can be used instead, which is a spatial zone where interaction of the sea and land processes occurs. Both the terms coast and coastal are often used to describe a geographic location or region; for example, New Zealand's West Coast, or the East and West Coasts of the United States.

Coast
Die Coast Province (Küstenprovinz) ist eine Provinz Kenias. Sie liegt entlang der Küste des Landes am Indischen Ozean. Ihre Hauptstadt ist Mombasa.

Küste
Als Küste bezeichnet man nach Kelletat (1999) das Gebiet zwischen der obersten und äußersten landeinwärtigen und der untersten und äußersten seewärtigen Brandungseinwirkung. Als Küstenlinie wird die Linie des mittleren Hochwassers, bei Gezeitenküsten des mittleren Tidehochwassers, bezeichnet.

Côte (géographie)
La côte est définie comme la partie de la terre adjacente ou proche de l'océan (ou de la mer). En français, il n'y a pas de consensus sur la différence entre côte et littoral. Aussi, en géographie, on utilise souvent le terme de côte pour traduire la notion anglosaxone de coastline. L'adjectif côtier qualifie ce qui est sur, proche ou relatif à une côte.

Kust
Kusten är gränsen mellan hav och land. Utmed kusten hittar man ofta stränder, hamnar och ibland fjordar. En stor del av världens befolkning bor nära kuster. Kuster förändras i förhållande till naturkrafter som vågor och tidvatten, landhöjning och skiftande havsnivå. Den östra och västra kusten av ett landområde kallas ost- respektive västkust.

Wybrzeze
Wybrzeże - wąski pas po obu stronach linii brzegowej, zarówno od strony lądu, jak i strony morza, na który ma wpływ rzeźbotwórcza działalność mórz i oceanów (m.in. fal morskich, pływów, prądów przybrzeżnych).
Ze względu na to czy działalność ta jest niszcząca czy budująca się, wyróżnia się wybrzeża niszczone, wybrzeża narastające oraz wybrzeża wyrównywane (tj. w niektórych miejscach niszczone, w niektórych narastające). A ze względu na jego układ w stosunku do głównych linii ukształtowania terenu lub budowy geologicznej wyróżnia się wybrzeża podłużne i wybrzeża poprzeczne. Wyróżnia się także wybrzeża podwójne, czyli takie którym towarzyszy dodatkowo lido lub mierzeja.
