Climax vegetation
Climax vegetation is the vegetation which establishes itself on a given site for given climatic conditions in the absence of anthropic action after a long time (it is the asymptotic or quasi-equilibrium state of the local ecosystem).

Klimaxvegetation
Als Klimaxvegetation wird in der Ökologie ein relativ stabiler Endzustand (lat. Klimax „Höhepunkt“) der Vegetation bezeichnet, der sich im Laufe der Sukzession herausbildet. Aus vegetationskundlicher Sicht nennt man die sich im Klimax einstellende Pflanzengesellschaft auch Klimaxgesellschaft (den Wald betreffend auch Schlusswaldgesellschaft).
