Premillennialism in Christian end-times theology is the belief that Jesus Christ will literally and physically be on the earth for his millennial reign at his second coming. The doctrine is called premillennialism because it holds that Jesus’ physical return to earth will occur prior to the inauguration of the millennium. It is distinct from the other forms of Christian eschatology such as postmillennialism or amillennialism, which view the millennial rule as occurring either before the second coming, or as being figurative and non-temporal.

Prämillenarismus oder Prämillennialismus ist eine christliche eschatologische Lehre, die von einer zukünftigen tausendjährigen Herrschaft Christi auf Erden ausgeht (Millenarismus), oft mit Israel als politisch und religiös dominierender Weltmacht. Prä (lat. vor) besagt dabei, dass Jesus Christus vor dem Millennium auf die Erde kommen wird.

Kiliasm (Chiliasm, av gr. chi'lioi, "tusen"), eller millenarism, läran om det tusenåriga riket, en övertygelse av religiös, social, eller politisk rörelse om en kommande genomgripande transformation av samhället, efter vilken allt kommer att vara förändrat.
