chancer

n. (British) person who takes chances or many risks; person who takes advantage of any opportunity

Chancer was a British television serial produced by Central Television for ITV. It told the story of a likeable conman and rogue (played by Clive Owen) at the end of the yuppie eighties. There were a total of twenty episodes, split into two series which aired in 1990 and 1991. Although the series has only been released on DVD in the UK, that release is a Region 0 (internationally playable) DVD.
