The telencephalon (IPA: ) is the name for the forebrain, a large region within the brain to which many functions are attributed. Many people refer to it as the cerebrum; however, it is technically referred to as the telencephalon.As a more technical definition, the telencephalon refers to the cerebral hemispheres and other, smaller structures within the brain, although the telencephalon is one of the larger divisions (in terms of number). It is the anterior-most embryological division of the brain that develops from the prosencephalon.

Das Telencephalon oder Cerebrum (Endhirn) ist der größte unter den fünf Hirnabschnitten und ihnen übergeordnet und gehört zum Zentralnervensystem. Meist werden "Endhirn" und Großhirn synonym verwendet, einige zählen auch die Kerne des Diencephalons mit zum Großhirn, dann entspricht das Großhirn dem Prosencephalon.

De grote hersenen (ook cerebrum, eindhersenen, of telencephalon) zijn onderdeel van het centraal zenuwstelsel en omvatten het grootste deel van de menselijke hersenen. De grote hersenen verwerken impulsen afkomstig van sensorische zenuwcellen en reguleren vrijwillige beweging. Ze zijn tevens de plek waar de cognitieve en emotionele processen (o.a. logisch redeneren, planning, geheugen, emotie) plaatsvinden.
