Video CD (VCD). CD Video (also known as CDV, CD-V, or CD+V) was a format introduced in the mid-
1980s that combined the technologies of
compact disc and
laserdisc. CD-V discs were the same size as an audio CD, and contained up to 20 minutes worth of audio information that could be played on any audio CD player. It also contained up to 5 minutes of analog video information, which could be played back on a newer laserdisc player capable of playing CD-V discs. One of the first laserdisc players that could play CD-V discs as well was the
Pioneer CLD-1010 from
1987.

CD-ähnliches
Speichermedium für
Videos im Heimgebrauch. Aufgrund ihrer hohen Qualität wurden LDs auch im professionellen Bereich eingesetzt. Die Abtastung erfolgt berührungslos durch einen
Laser. Im Gegensatz zu Tonbändern, Schallplatten, Videobändern und anderen
Bildplatten-Techniken gibt es daher –- theoretisch –- keine Abnutzung. Heute ist sie im Heimbereich, vor allem in Europa, von der
DVD nahezu verdrängt.

CDビデオ (CD Video, CDV, CD+V, CD-V) は、
コンパクトディスクと
レーザーディスクの技術を組み合わせて開発された
光ディスク規格。
ビデオCDが開発される以前の
1987年に発表された。CDビデオは一般的なCDと同一の形状の直径12
cmの中心に穴のあいた
ディスクで、オーディオCDなどと区別をするため、記録面は特有の金色の光沢を持っている。一般のオーディオ
CDプレーヤーで再生することのできる内側8cmの部分（オーディオパートと呼ばれる）に
デジタルの音声情報を最大20分収録できるほかに、残りの外側部分（ビデオパート）に最大5分の
アナログの映像情報を収録することができる。CDビデオを再生できるものとして初めて製品化されたレーザーディスクプレーヤーは
1987年に
パイオニアから発売されたPioneer CLD-1010である。規格上では、デジタル音声を収録したレーザーディスクにCD同様の
TOCも併録したものも、CD VIDEO LDとしてCDビデオの一種とされていた。

cd och
laserdisc. De inre 8 cm av skivan användes för vanligt cd-ljud, och fungerade också i en vanlig cd-spelare, medan de yttre spåren på skivan användes för upp till 5 minuter analog video. En av de första laserdiscspelarna som även kunde spela cd video var CLD-1010 från
Pioneer 1987.
