Le catch, qu'on appelle aussi lutte professionnelle au Québec (au Québec, « catcher » signifie attraper ou comprendre), Puroresu au Japon et professional wrestling dans les pays anglophones, est un sport-spectacle d'origine américaine qui se déroule sur un ring et qui peut être vu comme un lointain dérivé du pugilat ou de la lutte gréco-romaine.
