Callus
A callus (or callosity) is a toughened area of skin which has become relatively thick and hard in response to repeated friction, pressure, or other irritation. Rubbing that is too frequent or forceful will cause blisters rather than allow calluses to form. Since repeated contact is required, calluses are most often found on feet because of frequent walking. Calluses are generally not harmful, but may sometimes lead to other problems, such as skin ulceration or infection.

Callús
Callús is a village in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of and as of 2011 had a population of 1940 people.

Callus
Callus oder Kallus (lat. für ‚harte Haut‘ oder ‚Schwiele‘, fachlich eine Ansammlung undifferenzierter oder nicht vollständig differenzierter Zellen) nennt man:
- bei Tieren und beim Menschen Starkwuchs an den Bruchstellen von Knochenbrüchen, siehe Kallus (Medizin)
- bei Pflanzen Komplexe undifferenzierter, totipotenter Zellen an Schnitt- oder Bruchstellen, siehe Kallus (Botanik)

Hornschwiele
Eine Hornschwiele (fachsprachlich Tylom, Tylosis oder Tylositas), umgangssprachlich auch „Hornhaut“ genannt, ist eine Vernarbung der Haut mit lokaler Verdickung des Stratum corneum (Hyperkeratose). Sie tritt als Resultat einer chronisch-traumatischen Dermatitis auf. Die bekannteste Form der Hornschwiele ist das sogenannte Hühnerauge am Fuß.

Hudvalk
En hudvalk är en förhårdnad på huden som uppkommit genom långvarig friktion eller tryck. Vanligast är att dessa förekommer på händer eller fötter. Hudvalkar är generellt ofarliga men kan leda till andra problem såsom infektioner.

Nagniotek
Nagniotek, odcisk (łac. clavus) – reakcja obronna skóry na miejscowy ucisk, w postaci zwiększonego wytwarzania spłaszczonych komórek rogowych. Wywierany ucisk wgniata te twarde komórki w głąb skóry pobudzając w ten sposób ich dalsze wytwarzanie.
Centralnie w nagniotku zlokalizowany jest czop rogowy, który ma zwykle kształt stożka, którego ostry wierzchołek skierowany jest w głąb skóry, co może powodować podrażnienie zakończeń nerwowych i następowy napadowy ból. Najczęstsza lokalizacja to stopa, a zwłaszcza okolice pięty, łuku stopy i podeszwowej strony palców.
