A boycott is an act of voluntarily abstaining from using, buying, or dealing with a person, organization, or country as an expression of protest, usually for political reasons. It can be a form of consumer activism.

Ein Boykott ist ein organisiertes wirtschaftliches, soziales oder politisches Zwangs- oder Druckmittel, durch das eine Person, ein Unternehmen oder ein Staat vom regelmäßigen Geschäftsverkehr ausgeschlossen wird. Heute steht der Boykott allgemein für eine Verrufserklärung oder Ächtung durch Ausdruck einer kollektiven Verweigerungshaltung.

Le boycott ou boycottage est le refus systématique de consommer les produits ou services d'une entreprise ou d'une nation. Il peut aussi s'agir d'un boycott d'élections ou d'évènements.

En bojkott är en vägran från någons sida att göra någonting, ofta av politiska skäl. Exempel: Bojkott av julfirande innebär att man inte firar jul. Bojkott av EU-parlamentsvalet innebär att man inte röstar i detta val, och så vidare.

Bojkot (ang. boycott) jest to częściowe lub całkowite zerwanie kontaktów (handlowych) lub stosunków dyplomatycznych z firmą, organizacją, państwem. Bojkot stosuje się w celu wyrażenia protestu lub wywarcia presji (wymuszenia ustępstw). Bojkot tzn. lekceważyć kogoś czy coś podważać jego rację lub poglądy.
