Borracha
A Borracha é o produto primário do cozimento do látex da seringueira. Hoje, a borracha sintética, concorrente do elastômero natural em algumas aplicações e complementar em outras, é produzida a partir de derivados de petróleo. A borracha mais conhecida é a branca utilizada para atividades simples como apagar textos em lapis. Outra bastante conhecida é a preta, utilizada em pneus e para fins industriais. Esta segunda por sua vez é bem mais resistente ao impacto, desgaste, sujeira e corrosão.
