Bootleg or Bootlegging generally refers to smuggling, the term comes from when people would hide things in their boots to avoid it being found, but may also refer to:

Der Begriff Bootleg bezeichnet im Deutschen nicht autorisierte Tonaufzeichnungen, die zumeist bei Konzerten entstanden sind. Häufig spricht man auch synonym von Schwarzpressung oder Raubpressung. Der Begriff leitet sich vom englischen "bootleg" (
Stiefelschaft) her. Im Stiefelschaft wurden Schnapsflaschen über die Grenze geschmuggelt, woraus die Zweitbedeutung to bootleg = schmuggeln entstand.
