Blues-rock is a hybrid musical genre combining elements of the blues with rock and roll, with an emphasis on the electric guitar. It began to develop as a particular style in the mid-1960s in England and the United States through the work of bands such as Cream and The Rolling Stones, who experimented with music from the old bluesmen like Elmore James, Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters.

Le Blues rock est un genre musical hybride combinant le blues et le rock'n'roll. Ce genre prend corps au milieu des années 1960 avec les Rolling Stones qui adaptent les vieux blues de Elmore James, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and Champion Jack Dupree. The Rolling Stones abandonneront ensuite ce genre pour se tourner vers un rock plus classique, à la manière d'un Chuck Berry.

Die Anfänge des Genres gehen auf Mitte der 1960er Jahre zurück, als Bands wie die Rolling Stones Einflüsse von Bluesmusikern wie Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf und Muddy Waters in ihre Musik einführten. In den frühen 1970er Jahren ging der britische Bluesrock in den Hardrock und der amerikanische Ausläufer in den Southern Rock über.

Blues rock - styl w muzyce rockowej, zainicjowany przez Johna Mayalla, powstały z połączenia elementów bluesa z rockiem. Blues rock narodził się w połowie lat 60. XX wieku w Wielkiej Brytanii i Stanach Zjednoczonych. Muzycy grający w tym stylu stawiali sobie za cel odrodzenie klasycznego bluesa. Choć muzyka przez nich grana strukturalnie odpowiadała temu gatunkowi muzyki, nie był to ortodoksyjny czarny blues, lecz styl osadzony w estetyce rockowej. Często też nazywany był "białym bluesem".

Il blues rock cominciò a svilupparsi come genere originale a sé stante sin dalla metà degli anni '60, attraverso le sonorità di band come i Rolling Stones (che a loro volta traevano spunto da vecchi maestri quali Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, e Muddy Waters).
