BITE may refer to:

A bite is a wound received from the mouth (and in particular, the teeth) of an animal, including humans. Animals may bite in self-defense, in an attempt to predate food, as well as part of normal interactions. Other bite attacks may be apparently unprovoked. Self inflicted bites occur in some genetic illnesses such as Lesch-Nyhan syndrome. Biting is an act that occurs when an animal uses its teeth to pierce another object, including food, flesh and inanimate matter. A person bitten by an animal potentially carrying parvovirus or rabies virus should consult a medical doctor immediately. A bite victim may also incur serious bacterial infections of the bone called osteomyelitis which can become life threatening if untreated, whether or not the animal has parvovirus or rabies virus.

Bi-specific T-cell engagers (BiTEs) are a class of artificial bispecific monoclonal antibodies that are investigated for the use as anti-cancer drugs. They direct a host's immune system, more specifically the T cells' cytotoxic activity, against cancer cells. BiTE is a registered trademark of Micromet AG.

Mit der Abkürzung BITE (von Englisch: Built In Test Equipment, Eingebaute Testeinrichtung) wird Hardware und Software in einem Computersystem bezeichnet, die es erleichtert die korrekte Funktionsweise des Systems zu überprüfen und zu überwachen und es ggf. erlaubt automatisiert auf auftretende Probleme zu reagieren. Solche Testeinrichtungen werden in sicherheitskritischen Systemen wie bspw. im Bereich der Avionik integriert.

Der Biss bezeichnet den Vorgang des Beißens eines Lebewesens meist unter Verwendung seiner Zähne. Das Beißen ist eine zentrale Aufgabe des Kiefers. Auch das Verwenden von anderen Mundwerkzeugen, etwa von Mandibeln, wird oft als Biss bezeichnet. Außerdem werden durch das Beißen zugefügte Wundstellen oder Wundmale mit diesem Wort beschrieben.

Une morsure est une blessure faite par la bouche d'une personne ou la gueule d'un animal. Les morsures sont des éléments de comportements complexes : défense-agression (comportement territorial) ; prédation ; certaines interactions (rites sexuels, jeux, etc.). Selon l'animal, sa denture et sa vigueur, chez les carnivores en particulier, la zone touchée, les soins éventuels, les conséquences pour le blessé sont très variables.
