Bison
Members of the genus Bison are large, even-toed ungulates within the subfamily Bovinae. Two extant and four extinct species are recognized. The surviving species are the American bison, also known as the American buffalo (although it is only distantly related to the true buffalo), Bison bison (with two subspecies, the plains bison, Bison bison bison, and the wood bison, Bison bison athabascae), found in North America, and the European bison, or wisent (Bison bonasus), found in Europe and the Caucasus. While these species are usually grouped into their own genus, they are sometimes included in the closely related genus Bos, together with cattle, gaur, kouprey and yaks, with which bison have a limited ability to interbreed.

Birmingham Solar Oscillations Network
The Birmingham Solar Oscillations Network (BiSON) consists of a network of six remote solar observatories monitoring low-degree solar oscillation modes. It is operated by the High Resolution Optical Spectroscopy group of the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Birmingham, UK, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, UK. They are funded by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

Bisons

Bison
Le bison est un grand bovidé ruminant dont il existe deux espèces vivantes : celle d'Amérique du Nord (Bison bison) et celle d'Europe (Bison bonasus). La première vit essentiellement dans les steppes nord-américaines tandis que la seconde est forestière.

Bisonoxe
Bisonoxe eller bison (Bison bison) är en art i familjen slidhornsdjur, underfamiljen oxdjur. Den lever i Nordamerika och har två underarter: Bison bison bison som förekommer på öppna prärien och Bison bison athabascae som lever i skogar. Arten är nära släkt med visenten.

Bison (zwierzeta)
Bison - rodzaj dużych ssaków krętorogich charakteryzujących się krótką, szeroką głową, krótką szyją i wysokim kłębem. Owłosienie przedniej części ciała jest dłuższe.
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki żyjące współcześnie, określane jako grupa bisontina:
- Bison bison - bizon
- Bison bonasus - żubr
- †Bison antiquus
- †Bison latifrons
- †Bison occidentalis
- †Bison priscus
Za przodka gatunków zaliczanych do rodzaju Bison większość autorów uznaje azjatycki gatunek opisany jako Bison sivalensis Lydekker (ex Falconer, 1878). Rozprzestrzenione w plejstocenie na terenie Europy i Azji, przedostały się do Ameryki Północnej.
