Barn Owl
The Barn Owl (Tyto alba) is the most widely distributed species of owl, and one of the most widespread of all birds. It is also referred to as Common Barn Owl, to distinguish it from other species in the barn-owl family Tytonidae. These form one of two main lineages of living owls, the other being the typical owls (Strigidae). T. alba is found almost anywhere in the world except polar and desert regions, Asia north of the Alpide belt, most of Indonesia, and the Pacific islands.

Tytonidae
Barn-owls (family Tytonidae) are one of the two families of owls, the other being the true owls, Strigidae. They are medium to large sized owls with large heads and characteristic heart-shaped faces. They have long, strong legs with powerful talons. They also differ from Strigidae in structural details relating in particular to the sternum and feet.

Schleiereule
Die Schleiereule (Tyto alba) ist eine Vogelart aus der Ordnung der Eulen (Strigiformes) und der Familie der Schleiereulen (Tytonidae). Die Schleiereule ist eine sehr helle, langbeinige Eule, die keine Federohren aufweist. Zu ihren auffälligsten Erkennungsmerkmalen gehört das herzförmige Gesicht sowie die verhältnismäßig kleinen, schwarzen Augen. Sie ist nachtaktiv und ist am Tage nur an ihren Ruheplätzen sowie am Brutplatz zu beobachten.

Schleiereulen
Die Schleiereulen (Tytonidae) sind eine der zwei Familien der Eulen (Ordnung Strigiformes). Die in Mitteleuropa bekannteste Art ist die Schleiereule. Die größte Art ist die Tasmanien-Schleiereule, die eine Körperlänge von bis zu 55 Zentimetern erreicht.

Plomykówka
Płomykówka (Tyto alba) – średniej wielkości sowa z rodziny płomykówkowatych. Spośród wszystkich sów najbardziej rozpowszechniony na świecie gatunek. Zamieszkuje wszystkie kontynenty oprócz Antarktyki. W Polsce nieliczny ptak lęgowy (tylko podgatunek T. alba guttata), osiadły.

Plomykówkowate
Płomykówkowate (Tytonidae) - rodzina ptaków z rzędu sów. Obejmuje gatunki mięsożerne, zamieszkujące niemal cały świat. Ptaki te charakteryzują się następującymi cechami:
- szlara w kształcie serca
- stosunkowo słaby dziób
- stosunkowo długie nogi
- składają owalne jaja.
Do rodziny należą następujące podrodziny, rodzaje i gatunki:
