Autor
Ein Autor (lat. „Urheber“, „Schöpfer“, „Förderer“, „Veranlasser“) ist der Verfasser oder geistige Urheber eines Werkes. Dabei handelt es sich meist um Werke der Literatur im weitesten Sinn (Schriftsteller, Fachbuch-, Lehrbuch-, Sachbuch-, Drehbuch-, Fernseh-, Opern- oder Bühnenautor). Seltener wird, mit einem deutlich juristischen Beiklang, als Autor der Urheber eines Werkes der nichtliterarischen Kunst (etwa Musik, Fotografie, Filmkunst) und der Wissenschaft verstanden (vgl. auch Softwareautoren, Gesetzesautoren). Unüblich scheint es auch zu sein, konkrete Poesie, visuelle Poesie oder Wortbilder als von Autoren geschaffen zu bezeichnen.

Autor - osoba, która stworzyła, współtworzyła lub zapoczątkowała tworzenie dzieła (w szczególności pisanego).
W języku polskim istnieje tendencja do określania twórców form kultury i nauki bardziej specyficznymi dla ich profesji nazwami (malarz, rzeźbiarz w sztuce; kompozytor, piosenkarz w muzyce; reżyser, scenarzysta w teatrze i filmie, wynalazca, konstruktor w naukach technicznych, itd.).
Pierwszym stworzonym po polsku tekstem, który został podpisany imieniem i nazwiskiem, jest wiersz O chlebowym stole Przecława Słoty.

Autor
Autor é sempre o indíviduo que fez, que criou. O autor, em relação à Literatura ou outro tipo de arte, é aquele a quem se deve uma obra. É alguém que tem uma determinada visão do mundo e a exprime em termos artísticos ou científicos.
Na narratologia, o autor é uma das três entidades da história, sendo as outras o narrador e o leitor/espectador. O leitor e o autor habitam o mundo real. É função do autor criar um mundo alternativo, com personagens e cenários e eventos que formem a história. É função do leitor entender e interpretar a história. Já o narrador existe no mundo da história (e apenas nele) e aparece de uma forma que o leitor possa compreendê-lo.

Un autor es toda persona que crea una obra susceptible de ser protegida con derechos de autor. En general, el término no sólo se refiere a los creadores de novelas, obras dramáticas y tratados, sino también a quienes desarrollan programas de computación, disponen datos en guías telefónicas, elaboran coreografías de danza, también incluye a los fotógrafos, escultores, pintores, cantautores, letristas de canciones (distinguiéndolo del creador de la música, al que se lo llama compositor), a los que graban sonidos y traducen libros de un idioma a otro, etc.
