The suffix -ase is used in biochemistry to form names of enzymes. The most common way to name enzymes is to add this suffix onto the end of the substrate, e.g. an enzyme that breaks down peroxides may be called peroxidase. Sometimes enzymes are named for the function they perform, rather than substrate, e.g. the enzyme that joins DNA strands is called polymerase (it polymerises DNA).

Die Asen (altnord. Æsir „die Pfähle“, Sg. Áss, urgerm. *ansuz) sind das jüngere Göttergeschlecht in der nordischen Mythologie. Das ältere Geschlecht wird Wanen (altnord. Vanir, Sg. Vanr) genannt.Nach der Jüngeren Edda wohnen zwölf Asen in Asgard (Sitz der Götter). Sie herrschen über die Welt und die Menschen, allerdings beschränkt durch das Schicksal, das nur die Nornen im vollen Umfang kennen. Ihnen werden Eigenschaften wie Stärke, Macht und Kraft zugeschrieben. Sie sind weitgehend vermenschlicht, haben also einen irdischen Alltag. Wie die Menschen sind sie sterblich. Nur durch die Äpfel der Idun halten sie sich jung, bis fast alle von ihnen zur Ragnarök getötet werden.

Tone Åse (* 24. Februar 1965) ist eine norwegische Sängerin, deren Stil durch den experimentellen Umgang mit ihrer Stimme, häufig auch mittels elektronischer Effekte, geprägt ist.Tone Åse hat ihre musikalische Ausbildung, u. a. eine klassische Gesangsausbildung, in  Bergen und an den Musikkonservatorien von Trøndelag und Trondheim durchlaufen. Seit 1991 gehört sie dem experimentell ausgerichteten Vokalensemble Kvitretten an und war somit ein Mitglied der ersten Stunde. 1995 gründet sie zusammen mit dem Keyboarder Stale Storløkken, dem Saxofonisten Tor Yttredal und dem Schlagzeuger Tor Haugerud die Band Bol, deren Musik eine Mischung aus progressivem Rock, Jazz, elektronischer Musik sowie Pop und Folk darstellt. Des Weiteren tritt sie als Mitglied der Trondheim Voices, einem Gesangsensemble, das sich aus Musikern der Region Trondheims zusammensetzt, auf. Neben ihrer aktiven Rolle als Sängerin widmet sich Tone Åse auch verschiedenen musikpädagogischen Projekten.

La loro patria d'origine era Ásaland ("terra degli Æsir"), anche chiamata Ásaheimr ("regno degli Æsir"), e capitale di tale regno era Ásgarðr ("recinto degli Æsir") che Snorri curiosamente identifica con Troia
