Work of Art: The Next Great Artist is an American reality competition show that airs on the cable television network Bravo, in which up-and-coming artists compete for a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and a cash prize of $100,000. The show is produced by Pretty Matches Productions and Magical Elves Productions, the same company that created Project Runway and Top Chef. The series premiered on June 9, 2010. Work of Art was renewed for a second season in September 2010 which began on October 12, 2011.

A work of art, artwork, art piece, or art object is an aesthetic item or artistic creation. The term "a work of art" can apply to:

• an example of fine art, such as a painting or sculpture
• a fine work of architecture or landscape design
• an object that has been designed specifically for its aesthetic appeal, such as a piece of jewellery
• an object that has been designed for aesthetic appeal as well as functional purpose, such as a table lamp
• a photograph, film or visual computer program
• a work of conceptual art or performance art
• a production of live performance, such as theater, ballet or opera
• an interactive game

Das Wort Kunstwerk (von althochdeutsch werc, verwandt mit „Werk, Arbeit“ [siehe dessen Etymologie) bezeichnet allgemein das Erzeugnis künstlerischen Schaffens. Umgangssprachlich äußert sich in diesem Ausdruck häufig Bewunderung für die meisterhafte, einzigartige oder ästhetisch gelungene Ausführung. Der umgangssprachliche Gebrauch von „Kunstwerk“ bezeichnet als „schön“ empfundene Eindrücke aus nahezu allen Bereichen. In der Unterscheidung von Kunstwerk und Nicht-Kunstwerk drückt sich dabei der Kunstbegriff aus.
