Une arme est un outil ou un dispositif autonome (un piège, une mine...) destiné dans sa conception ou dans son utilisation à neutraliser, à blesser ou tuer un être vivant, ou à causer une destruction matérielle.

En armé eller hær er den landbaserte forsvarsgrenen av et lands militærvesen. Arméer er gjerne inndelt i våpenarter som infanteri, kavaleri og artilleri, støttet av ingeniørtropper, samband, tren, intendantur, etterretning og sanitet.
